Mabel C. Kroll, 90, of the Chippewa Manor Retirement Community, Chippewa Falls, died Friday, Jan. 16, 2004, at her son Bill's home on Lake Wissota.
She was born Jan. 30, 1913, in Chippewa Falls to Inga (Kleven) and Ole Rundberg. She graduated from Chippewa Falls Senior High School in 1930.
Mabel married John F. Kroll on April 29, 1933. She worked in retail sales for many years. She had been a member of Central Lutheran Church until becoming a charter member of Christ Lutheran Church in Chippewa Falls. She moved to the Chippewa Manor Retirement Community in December, 2000.
Survivors include: her son, William (Janice) Kroll of Chippewa Falls; her daughter, Jill (George "Skip") Thaler of Lakeville, Minn.; nine grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by: her husband, John on Nov. 22, 1983; a daughter, Cleo Mae Shafer; two sisters, Evelyn Johnson and Lillian Flint; and two brothers, Al and Gil Rundberg.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 20, at Pederson-Volker Funeral Chapel, Chippewa Falls, with the Rev. Donald C. Thorson of Christ Lutheran Church officiating. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery, Chippewa Falls.
Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday and until the time of service Tuesday at the funeral chapel.
Memorials are preferred in Mabel's memory to Christ Lutheran Church. The family especially thanks Northwest Wisconsin Home Care Hospice program for all their care and assistance.
