Wayne Samuelson Obituary

HOT SPRINGS, Ark. - Wayne "Sam" Samuelson, 70, of Hot Springs Village, Ark., passed away Tuesday, Aug. 21, 2012, at National Park Medical Center in Hot Springs. His courage and strength in fighting his illness will be an inspiration to those that knew him.

Sam was born on March 15, 1942, in Eau Claire to Hilman and Margaret Samuelson. He served in the U.S. Army and Reserves from 1964-1970. Sam earned a diploma in Machine Design Drafting. He retired in 2001 from Chippewa Valley Technical College as a Computer Aided Design (CAD) instructor after 19 years. Sam enjoyed traveling to warm weather places for scuba diving, sailing on Lake Wissota, hiking, photography, and even volleyball until he was 60.

He was preceded in death by: his parents; sister, Loretta Ross; and brother-in-law, Roger Kragness.

Sam is survived by: his wife of 32 years, Ramona Samuelson; two sisters, Betty Kragness and Lavonne (Lou) Coover; a brother, Don (Mary) Samuelson; a brother-in-law, Bernard Ross; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 13, at Grace Lutheran Church, 202 W. Grand Ave., Eau Claire, with Pastor Rolf Nestingen officiating.  Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 12 at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home, 814 First Ave., and also one hour prior to the service at church. Private family burial will be at Lakeview Cemetery in Eau Claire.
