ANN HALLOCK Obituary

ANN HALLOCK October 26, 1942 - February 10, 2025 Ann Hallock, 82, of Hannacroix, N.Y., passed away peacefully on February 10, 2025, at Our Lady of Mercy in Guilderland, N.Y., with her beloved husband of 58 years, Robert Hallock, by her side. Born and raised in Yates County, Ann was the daughter of Navarre and Kathryn Beard. She earned her degree in Home Economics from Cornell University and dedicated her career to the New York State Department of Social Services. A passionate advocate for public welfare, she co-wrote a bill that became New York State law in 1991, advancing healthcare rights for those in need. Ann's love of history shaped her retirement, during which she volunteered at Bronck Museum and Greene County Historical Society, serving for many years as secretary of the board. Her dedication to preserving local history was a testament to her deep appreciation for community and heritage. She is survived by her husband Robert, her brother Ben Beard, and many loving nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother Navarre Beard Jr. A woman of faith and service, Ann was a devoted member of First United Methodist Church of Coxsackie. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the church. A celebration of Ann's life will be scheduled in the spring.

I was so sorry to hear of Ann`s passing. I have been a member of the Greene County historical Society and she and Robert have been such a strong part of the society. I have fond memories of seeing her. I remember when they used to wrap the lunchboxes up for the tour of the homes, that was always such a delight to get your lunch box all wrapped up.

I'm very saddened to hear of Ann's passing. It surprised me as she and Bob have been busy and active in the community for as long as we've known them as neighbors, for the past 28 years. Her presence here will be missed. Both she and Bob are thought of fondly.

So sorry to hear about Ann passing away. I loved talking to her. I remember when she and Bob did the pork roast dinners at the small church in Medway. No one could beat their cooking! Ann bought Avon from me over the years, and we always talked on the porch when I went to deliver. A great neighbor and friend. Rest in Peace Ann.
