SHERRI SHOFF Obituary

SHERRI SHOFF Sherri Lucille Shoff, 72, of Penn Yan passed away on May 8, 2025, after a long illness, surrounded by family. Sherri received her bachelor's degree from Keuka College where she met the love of her life, Dave, and many lifelong friends. She loved the Keuka area so much that she never left. She started her career at Keuka College, eventually finding her place at Yates County working as Director of Personnel. Sherri was not only committed to the community in her work but heavily involved in the Benton United Methodist Church and was an active member of United Methodist Women. Sherri never met a stranger, had a kind word for everyone, and made people feel welcomed. She always kept a positive outlook on life. Time spent with Sherri meant good food, good drinks, and lots of laughter. There was nothing more important to her than family and she would proudly share family updates with her friends. She loved nothing more than being a grandmother to Colton and Everett. Sherri loved her trips to the Adirondacks, spending time outside on the farm, reading, solving word puzzles and antiquing. She was predeceased by her mother Jeannine VanKuren, her father Robert Guley, cousin Marge Henson, and nephew Scott Shoff. Sherri is survived by her husband of 50 years David Shoff; two sons, Greg (Amy) Shoff and Todd (Candace) Shoff; and grandsons Colton and Everett Shoff. Also, aunts Patricia Pranitis and Sal Zinner; cousins Jude Pranitis, Mike Pranitis, Paul Pranitis and Sue Sardella; and many close friends who loved her dearly. A memorial gathering will be held on a later date to be announced. In lieu of flowers, please honor Sherri with a donation to Milly's Pantry, Humane Society of Yates County, or a local charity of your choice. Condolences to the family may be left in her guestbook at www.WeldonFuneralHome.com. Weldon Funeral Home of Penn Yan is assisting the family.

I met Sherri in 1992 when I worked at the Yates county job training program. Sherri brought me around to the various job sites and introduced me to all of the prospective employees for the kids that were hired. She knew everyone and it was clearly evident that she was well liked and respected by them. Thank you for everything that you did for me. You will be missed. My condolences to her family and friends.
