It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Jerome Edward "Rome" Harvey, who departed this life on May 14, 2025. Born on January 16, 1967, in Marion, Indiana, Jerome was a beloved son, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend.
Jerome spent his early years in Marion, graduating from Marion High School. He later moved to Grand Rapids, Michigan, where he built a life for himself before deciding to return to his roots in Marion in 2024.
He was preceded in death by his loving parents, Ruth and Howard Harvey, Jr.; his brothers, Gregory A. Harvey and Howard E. Harvey; and his cherished granddaughter, Alyssa.
Jerome leaves behind to cherish his memory his three children, Heather Marshall, Hilarri Marshall, and Austin Smith. He was a proud grandfather to Nadia, Alani, Hunter, Synia, and Rylin Lee. Jerome will also be deeply missed by his siblings, Brenda Harvey, Diana Harvey, Deborah (Harvey) and Will Jones, Brian "Dink" Harvey, and Brittany McCain; and his cousins who will forever hold him in their hearts.
"Rome" was known for his fun-loving nature and his ability to light up any room with his laughter and jokes. He treasured time spent with his cousins, uncles, and friends, creating countless cherished memories. His infectious spirit and joyful demeanor will be profoundly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
May he now rest in peace. We love you so much, Jerome.
