Andrew Allen Rogers, age 51, Homosassa, passed away Oct. 12, 2023, at his residence under the loving care of his family.
He was born in St. Petersburg, on Oct. 27, 1971, to Richard and Nancy (Kowalczyk) Rogers, and moved to Citrus County in 1975 from there. Andrew graduated from Lecanto High School in 1990, where he was a member of the FFA, 4-H and a member of the Cheerleading Squad. He then attended Pasco Hernando College where he became a Licensed Emergency Medical Technician. In 1995 Andrew became a commercial truck driver and traveled the United States. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Lecanto.
Andrew was an avid reader and enjoyed a good book. He loved the outdoors. His best times were when he was able to go fishing or hunting with his son. Andrew advocated for firearm education and taught many children and adults alike gun safety as well as the wonders of target practice and hunting.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Jenniffer (Pingot) Rogers, his son, Wyatt and his father, Richard Rogers. His mother, Nancy Rogers preceded him in death on March 14, 2021.
There will be a Celebration of Life on Oct. 21 at 1 p.m., from the First Baptist Church of Lecanto with Pastor Gary Bailey officiating.

Grandpa, Jenniffer, and Wyatt.....sometimes there are no other words to say that will make the pain of his loss any easier. My biggest wish is the ability to do this for you all. God's plan leaves open ended questions that sometimes will never have an answer until you meet him later on in life. Until then, we grieve the loss of such a memorable soul.

Andy was a genuine person who cared about his people. I don´t know what life will be like without his advise, guidance and just knowing he was a call away if I needed to talk. When I was just a bullied kid with no friends, Andy and his friends became my big brothers. And he remained so until the end. Andy was a lifeline through the seasons of my life. From middle school to my son, to my 20s, then illness in my 30s, when my own family passed away, to when I was at my lowest. He was unwavering in his love for his family, for Jen and Wyatt, no matter the circumstance. To have one less person in the world like him, is ... I don´t even know how to say it. Someone so kind, and not with us anymore will have its effects But, we will get to see him again someday. Everyone who´s life he touched will get to see him again someday. And in that day, I´ll get to express my gratitude the way I should have before it was too late. I imagine Andy will be at peace in his own private heaven with dogs, his old truck, watching over his herd in a perpetual sunset and watching over Jen and Wyatt, waiting for the rest of his tribe to someday join him in paradise. Amen
