David Edward Stevens, 71, of Fountain, Colorado passed away May 5, 2022 in his home from an illness.
He was born August 18, 1950 in Dennison, Ohio to Robert Craigo Stevens and Charlotte Hayes.
David went to high school at St. Petersburg High in Florida and graduated in 1968. David joined the United States Army in 1969 and served in Germany as a Motor Sergeant, receiving an Honorable Discharge in 1973. After returning to St. Petersburg, Florida, he found a career he loved becoming an ASE certified mechanic.
David met his wife, Cynthia Stagner, in 1974 and they were married on March 28, 1974 in Treasure Island, Florida. David moved to Citrus County, Florida in 1985 and became a Volunteer Firefighter in 1987. He served as the Derosa (Citrus County, Florida) Fire Chief from 1990 until he retired from firefighting in 2005. He moved to Alabama in 2010, and then Fountain, Colorado in 2014. In Colorado he volunteered and worked as an auto mechanic at the Fort Carson Auto Craft Center helping active duty and veterans repair and maintain their vehicles. David loved fishing, camping, rock crawling, and working on his jeep, but his favorite activity was being a grandfather to his ten grandchildren.
David Stevens is survived by his wife, Cynthia (Stagner) Stevens; and his children, David "Craig" and Stephanie Stevens, Shannon (Stevens) and Jeff Mabry, and Bradley "Brad" Stevens; his grandchildren, Dallas Cranmer, David Andrew Stevens, Bradley Caylob Stevens, Andrew Stevens, Madison Whitmeyer, Courtny Anderson, Devon Stevens, Navaniel Posey, Nathias Posey and Nasia Posey.

David will have two Celebrations of Life; in Colorado around May 29, 2022 and in Florida around July 9, 2022. For further information please contact Brad or Craig Stevens.
