Heather Bishop Obituary
Heather was born in Brooksville, FL on March 13, 1972 and resided in Citrus County since then. She graduated from Citrus High School (Class of 1990) and the University of Central Florida where she attained her Bachelor's Degree in Education.
She was an exceptional educator that truly loved her profession, having taught the children at Floral City Elementary School for 25 years.
Her memory will be cherished by her husband of 24 years, Jonny Bishop; her 2 sons, Brennen J. and Connor J. Bishop, both of Inverness; her mother, Althea Kjos and Roy Green Floral City; brother, Jason O. (Tracy) Kjos and their children, Kyler and Kaley of Inverness; sister, Nicolle E. (Andrew) Tompkins and their daughter, Madison of Inverness; maternal grandparents, Bob & Betty Metz, Floral City; her aunt, Cheryl Scruggs and her children, Ashley and Justin, Floral City; brother in law, Larry Bishop and wife, Gloria of Inverness, brother in law, Mark Bishop of Pageland South Carolina and his children, Mike and Makayla, mother and father in law, Norma and Larry Bishop of Monroe, North Carolina.
Heather's family will receive friends on Saturday, January 16th from 2:00 – 4:00 PM at the Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the "Heather Bishop Memorial Scholarship Fund." Please make donations payable to "Citrus High School-Heather Bishop Memorial Scholarship Fund." For those wishing to mail their donation, the address for Citrus High School is 600 W. Highland Blvd. Inverness, Fl. 34450.
There will be a Celebration of Life for family members at a later date followed by burial in Hills of Rest Cemetery, Floral City.

During the years I worked at Floral City Elementary (not since 2010), Heather was always a ray of sunshine to me, to other faculty and staff and most importantly to the students. I am so sorry to hear of her passing and send my deepest condolences to all who loved her.

My Tribute to Heather takes the form of an original prayer to God: O God, Receive dear Heather, wife, mother teacher, friend~ Give us all Your comfort, our broken hearts to mend. We thank You for the life she lived to the glory of Your Name. Grant us the peace, grant us the grace to go and live the same...extending kindness everyday with integrity and love...She made the world a better place...Recieve her home above. Amen

Our deepest condolences to Jonny and the Bishop family. Chuck has told me many times about how caring and kind Heather was to him when he would fill in at Floral City Elementary. She never missed an opportunity to check in on him to ask if there was anything she could do to help him. The loss of a wonderful person like Heather is a loss to our whole community. Praying for peace and comfort for her family and for all who knew and loved her.
