Wanda Lou Shell, 81 of Hernando, passed away suddenly Saturday, Aug. 24, 2024, Inverness, after a brief illness. Wanda was born June 28, 1943, in Kokomo, Indiana, to the late Thomas and Viola (Pierce) Fletcher.
Wanda was a faithful servant at St. Paul's Lutheran church in Beverly Hills, FL and a proud member of the UAW and Moose Lodge. She retired from 30 years of employment at International Harvester/Navistar in Indianapolis, Indiana. She enjoyed the beauty of the outdoors, the sun in her face, and gardening. She loved a good laugh, trips to the beach, and living in Florida! Her sudden passing leaves a tremendous void to all her knew her. She loved all of her family and friends. She is deeply missed.
She is survived by her son; Ron Mighell wife Leslee, granddaughter; Heather Tarsia husband Steven, and great-grandchildren; Tyler, Breanna, and Dayna Fergerson.
In addition to her parents, Wanda was preceded in death by her loving husband of 32 years Bill J. Shell, as well as her first husband of 28 years and father of her two sons Dallas E. Mighell, her youngest son Dennis Allen Mighell, three brothers; Tom Fletcher, James Fletcher, Jack Pierce and threee sisters; Judy Barkdol, Dessie Wade, and May Simpson.
Memorial services to be held Saturday, Sept. 7 at 2 p.m., at St Paul's Lutheran Church, 6150 N Lecanto Hwy,Beverly Hills. Celebration of life immediately following in the church fellowship hall with refreshments.
Flowers can be sent to St Paul's Lutheran church or consider donating in her memory to her favorite charities St. Jude’s and Boys town. In the care of Hooper Funeral Homes & Crematory.
