Doris M. (nee Rullman), wife of the late Richard H. Engelmann, died August 9, at 88 years of age. Born March 13, 1924, in Louisville KY, to Herbert and Flora Rullman, she was a Cincinnati resident since 1940, and graduated from Western Hills High School in 1942. During World War II, she was a member of the staff of the Navy's Resident Inspector of Materiel at the Crosley Plant in Camp Washington, which produced gunsights for 20mm and 40mm guns. Subsequent to the War, she was employed by Billboard Publishing Company until 1949. She married Richard Engelmann on August 23, 1947. She and her husband were founding members of Christ Lutheran Church, Groesbeck, in 1954-55, where she was active in Sunday School, Vacation Bible School, and Women's Guild. In 1963-64 the family lived in India, where Mr. Engelmann was Guest Professor at Bengal Engineering College, Howrah, Calcutta, India. Subsequent to their return from India they helped found Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church, Pleasant Run, where she continued to be active in Women's Guild and Altar Committee. Her leisure time activities revolved around her family. She enjoyed traveling throughout the United States and in Europe. She enjoyed counted cross-stitch, completing many intricate works, and for many years embroidered her church's baptismal napkins. She is survived by her daughter Karen (Edwin) Gast of Farmington MO, son Richard (Ramona) Engelmann of Richland WA, and grandchildren Brian Gast of Milford OH, Julie Gast of Chicago IL, Kevin Gast of Boise ID and Daniel Engelmann of Richland WA. She is also survived by her sister, Marian (William) Beinke, as well as by nieces and nephews.
