Edwin GUERRERO Obituary

GUERRERO Edwin A., a forceful and entertaining businessman and long time resident of Mariemont, died after a prolonged illness at age 83. He lived a life of commitment, love, and laughter. School came easily to him as he graduated with honors from Morton High School in Berwyn, Illinois in 1936 and from Lake Forest College in 1940, majoring in business administration. He started a 42 year career with Container Corporation of America in 1943, as a sales manager in the folding carton division. He moved his family from Chicago to Cincinnati in 1958 assigned to coordinate and develop the Procter & Gamble account, which he did until his retirement in 1985. His confidence as a Christian businessman commited to honesty and integrity blended with his natural flair and playful laugh. A quick wit and upbeat nature made him a popular community member. He served as an adult leader of Boy Scout Troop 149 during his sons' involvement, and was himself an Eagle Scot. Over the years he was involved in Mariemont Athletic Booster Club, Knot Hole Baseball, the local Town Meeting, and Kiwanis. A lifelong Methodist, he and his wife Lyn were active members of Armstrong Chapel. He leaves Lyn, his beloved wife of 58 years; three children Marcy Singley, Scott Guerrero, and Michael Guerrero, and five grandchildren, Lisa, Christopher, Brian, Davin, and Trevor. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Monday, June 3 at Armstrong Chapel. The family will be available to greet visitors from 10:00 to 11:00. Reception following. The family requests memorial donations in lieu of flowers to Armstrong Chapel United Methodist Church, 5125 Drake Road, Indian Hill, OH. 45243.
