Dear Linda, Lisa, Ray and Laura,
We were saddened to learn of Jack's passing. He was a beloved Symphony colleague. I'll always remember the way he called me "The Greenville Kid" because we had gone to the same grade school and were started in this music business by the same wonderful band director. And of course you'll remember that thing about our children having the same names. Our love and sympathy go out to all of you. His memory will be immortal in the hearts of his students.

Dear Linda and Family,

I want to offer my condolences to all of you on the passing of Jack.

He was indeed a wonderful gentleman and a fine music teacher and professional musician.
He was my first trombone teacher at St. Lawrence School back in the early fifties and I have very fond memories of him and his extreme patience.

Lisa,Ray and Laura, I just heard about your father's passing and am so sorry for your loss. I've thought of you all often now that my parents reside at Evergreen. I have fond memories of Saturdays spent at your house after Y Band or the times your father took us backstage at the Cincinnati Zoo Opera. You were so lucky to have such a loving dad.

Linda, Lisa, Ray, and Laura,
Jack was the finest of men, a fact you certainly already know but a fact that cannot be said often enough. I cannot begin to tell you how much his life meant to me. He was truly a great man. His life touched so many other lives in ways far beyond simply passing on his love of music and family. I am so sad at his passing but am comforted knowing that his life meant so much to so many and that his was a good life well lived. My prayers are with all of you as you continue your lives without him. His beauty lives on in everyone whose lives were fortunate emough to be touched by his.
With love and gratitude,

I am blessed to have known and loved Jack Wellbaum. As a teacher he was patient and caring, as a friend he was generous and kind. During today's services, it was really wonderful to be with so many people who also loved him and knew how special he was. I miss him terribly but I am lucky to have had him in my life.

Jack was the greatest of cousins to me and my dad, Leo. My dad who was 8 years his senior loved Jack like a little brother for they spent so much time together growing up. In fact both my dad and mom loved and respected Jack so much as I did also. Over the years I came to realize Jack was not only a great cousin but a great musician, a great teacher, a great friend, and more importantly, a great humble human being.

Dad, Dotti, and I will miss Jack greatly. When I look back over the years, I wish we were able to have spent more time together; however, I cherish the time we were able to spend including the talks over the phone in the last so many years.

Linda, Lisa, Ray, Laura, and Family: may God bless you, watch over you, comfort you, uplift you, and guide you, now, and always. I am so sorry for your tremendous loss. I know Jack can not be replaced, but always remember the wonderful legacy Jack leaves which is found wherever you look including yourselves. For when I said Jack was a great cousin(relative), musician, teacher, friend, and humble human being, I really meant it. For in those capacities, Jack truly touched and uplifted people profoundly all over the world! He really left the world a better place than he found it. If there was ever a time to stand, applaud, and say,"Bravo, Jack, a life well done, thank you, Jack, you will always be loved and remembered", this is the time!

So much love to you, Linda, Lisa, Ray, Laura, and Family from me, dad, and Dotti! You all and Jack are in our prayers, now, and days to come!

Jack was my flute and piccolo professor from 1972-1976, my mentor, my psychologist, my biggest supporter, my father figure when I was away from home at the music conservatory, and my friend. Every moment I spent in his presence was supportive and uplifting. Over the years, he and Linda have always welcomed me back to Cincinnati to their home with open arms and gracious hospitality. My heart goes out to Linda, Lisa, Ray, and Laura, and all of the grandchildren. He loves you so very much. I will always remember him with deep love, respect, and gratitude.
