Maxine STRUPE Obituary

STRUPE Mrs. Maxine R. (May), of GA Hwy 85, Waverly Hall, GA, died at her home on May 5 after a long well fought battle with cancer. Funeral services will be held at St. Anne's Church on Thursday, May 9 at 11 A.M. with burial at ParkHill Cemetery. Visitation for family and friends will be held at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary on Macon Road on Wednesday, May 8 between the hours of 6 and 8 P.M. A resident of Waverly Hall, GA, for 26 years, Mrs. Strupe was born on April 15, 1951 in Cincinnati, OH, the daughter of Claire E. May. She was a long time member of Christ the King Church in Pine Mountain, GA. Mrs. Strupe was Executive Assistant to Mason H. Lampton of The Hardaway Company for 24 years. Mrs. Strupe was an avid outdoors woman and a member of the Midland Fox Hounds and the Ripshin Bsssets. She competed in Lure Coursing with her Greyhounds and Lurchers. She was a kind and gentle spirit who has now gone to walk with the angels. Survivors include her husband, Patrick T. Strupe; on son, John P. Strupe; her mother, Claire May of Cincinnati, OH; five sisters, Karen Foster and her husband, Michael of Midland, GA, Marilyn Bannon and her husband, James of McHenry, IL, Gloria Lane of Cincinnati, OH, Marlene Toepfer of Cincinnati, OH, Claire Rieman and her husband, James of Cincinnati, oH; one brother, David May of Goshen, OH; numerous nieces and nephews and many close friends. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to The John P. Strupe Scholarship Fund at any branch of CB&T or mailed to CB&T, P.O. Box 120, Columbus, GA 31902
