Peter Gerard, devoted husband of Melissa (Hammerly) Ruff. Loving son of the late C.Sue Luebbe and Charles Ruff. Dear bother of Linda (Jerry) Buckmaster, Michael (Judy) Ruff, Debbie (Andy) Silverman, and the late Terry Ruff, Jeff Ruff, and Sallie Wegman. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, and friends. Passed away December 6, 2016 at the age of 57. Visitation B.J. Meyer Sons Overlook Memorial Center, 4841 Glenway Avenue, (next to St. Teresa Church) on Saturday from 8:30AM to 10:30AM, followed by Memorial Mass 11:00AM at St. Teresa of Avila Church, 1175 Overlook Avenue. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society, 2808 Reading Road, Cincinnati, OH 45206 www.cancer.org.

Peter was a great friend to everyone! He never had a bad thing to say about anyone. So many occasions to mention-he was a good penpal-prom date, Best Man, great sense of humor-he'll be sorely missed-it is just too hard to believe he's gone & I can only hope I will see him on the other side. Melissa, you were the love of his life & I keep you in my prayers that in time your pain will ease.

Peter and Melissa were wonderful neighbors to my aunt when I couldn't be there for her. They went above and beyond and to this day, they are both there.
Peter had a wit and humor about him that could get through any challenge in life. I was in awe of his talent to turn a tired house into an immaculate palace filled with warmth and love. I envied the relationship that Peter and Melissa had; a testament to what a marriage should entail.
Peter's spirit and energy will stay with me.

I met Peter when I was in Corp. Real Estate with First Nat'l, Star, Firstar, etc. Bank. He, Jerry and the guys did projects for me at 425 Walnut. Peter was wonderful; always had a great pun and a smile and he and his team were amazing workers. He was getting a new carmaybe a BMW? I suggested his license read: "rrrRUFF." I can't remember if he took my advice. For several years I ran into Peter and his brothers down at Gethsemani on Good Friday. What a special man! I'm so sorry for your loss.

Melissa, I'm deeply sorry to hear of Peter's passing. I didn't know him but feel like I got to know him a bit through our stories and time at the salon. My "Petey" was always one of my favorite co-workers. I've missed his puns and hand drawn sketches since I've left Wegman. We had some great laughs during my time there. He was always the first to notice when I had my hair done - I teased him that Melissa taught him well! There is a party in Heaven for sure - and Pete's right there in the middle of it! He will definitely be missed - our thoughts and prayers are with Melissa and his family.

I'm so sorry to hear about Pete's passing. My first thought of him was that impish smile. I can still see it now. I also seem to remember that he (or maybe his mom) was fond of him wearing bow ties on special occasions. I'm so glad I got to catch up with him several years ago at a St. Teresa's reunion. He was a special man.

I'm so sad to hear about Pete's passing. I have great memories of Pete from St. Teresa. The first memory that came to mind was his impish smile and the bow ties he wore when we dressed up. I luckily got to catch up with him a couple of years ago at a reunion. He always put a smile on my face.

We did many, many years of design and installs together, and when we needed to clarify a floor plan he would say he would send over a ruff sketch to me. hilarious person...

To Petes family , I am so saddened for your loss. I went to Elder with Pete , At that time I was dealing with alot on problems the others would make fun ,take advantage, and just treat me as a loser,,but not Pete always respectful of me , had the great smile and the best sense of humor . He will be in my prayers . I now can only regret I will never be able to tell him ,or that I should've stayed close to such a great man . God bless you all!
