Sr. Therese Martin HESSLER Obituary

HESSLER

Sr. Therese Martin, SFP (nee Martha Frances), passed to eternal life on October 21, 2015, at age 90. She lived a life dedicated to God for 73 years as a Franciscan Sister of the Poor. During those years she served the poor as a nurse and nursing administrator in hospitals in Cincinnati, Dayton, and Kansas City, KS, and she served in leadership. She is survived by her Sisters in Christ, the Franciscan Sisters of the Poor, and her sister Elvera Berger and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Agnes (Mauntel) and Martin John Hessler, and sisters Loretta Nieman and Norma Reese. Visitation at St. Clare Peace Center, 80 Compton Rd., Hartwell, on Tuesday, October 27, from 9:30 a.m. until Liturgy of Christian Burial in the convent chapel at 11:00 a.m. Interment in the convent cemetery follows the Mass. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Franciscan Sisters of the Poor Foundation, Inc., 708 Third Ave., Suite 1920, New York, NY 10017.
