Tom was my first company commander when I arrived at Ft. Carson as a 2nd LT in 1985. He was a terrific leader and a good, caring man with a great sense of humor. Tom had a huge impact on a lot of us.

Kathy, I would like to offer my most sincere condolences. I just learn of Tom's passing while looking at other facebook messages and just clicked on his picture. I think of him often even if We did not communicate with each other much. I can only remember the times in Cincinnati and at Purcell. He seemed to be a great leader and family man entrenched in his community. He will be missed.

Dear Kathy,
Please accept my most heartfelt condolences for your loss. I just found out about Tom's passing. You may not remember me but I served with Tom at 3rd ACR (I was the Regimental S4 when he was the Regimental S3). I think the last time I saw you guys was when I came to your house for a get together shortly after you guys retired from the military when Tom started with GE. I am very shocked and saddened by this and wanted to let you know that I also mourn your loss. Tom was a good friend and a great American and Soldier.

Dear Kathy, Alex and Jack,
I would like to offer my most sincere condolences for your loss. My relationship with Tom was largely through business. Over the years, we came to know each other much better especially during the occasional strategy lunches at the famed “Porterhouse Restaurant”. Tom was a true professional dedicated to family, country and the company he worked for. We mourn your loss of a husband and father and as for us, a friend as well as a great American.

Dear Kathy, Alex and Jack,
With sadness beyond words, I send you my heartfelt condolences. I have only known Tom for 10 short years yet I treasure him as one of my finest ever friends. I salute his 20 years of above and beyond service to our Nation and his equally outstanding performance in the private sector. His honest and ethical conduct set standards that are lacking in so much of the business world. More importantly, he was such a wonderful, wonderful person who could light up any room on his entrance. I will never forget our special lunches and I will truly miss winning an annual bottle of Glen Morangie 12 from him following Navy football wins over his beloved Army team.
As you know I am unable to be with you on Saturday but I will be there in spirit standing attention during the service, and I will join you in person at Arlington.
God bless all you.
With my love, respect and friendship,

Kathy - Janey and I will truly miss Tom. We still have fond memories of our times together in Colorado and Kansas, and the many phonecalls Tom and I shared, giving each other advice, while we were Majors at Ft Bliss and Ft Bragg, respectively. It was my honor to serve with Tom.
Farewell, Trooper.
Prepared and Loyal.

There was a lesson that I never forgot. It takes two weeks to build a tank but it takes 18 years to build a soldier. The greatest gift that anyone can give you is to entrust the lives of their sons and daughters into your hands. Take good care of your soldiers. The men and women that were commissioned under "Maj. Brossart", as we affectionately knew him, were amazing officers in a large part thanks to him. He taught us the value of honor and integrity, loyalty and standing up for what is right. He was what we all strived to be. He will be greatly missed.

Dear Kathy, Alex, and Jack,
I was flying back from Shanghai Monday morning and was deeply saddened to hear of Tom's untimely death. Please accept my sincerest and fondest condolences to your and your entire family. I have so many fond memories of working with Tom. He was a hard working honest man with integrity, commitment, fortitude, and grit. It was an honor to know him and call him my friend. I will truly miss the “Hello Sunshine (my name for him) and Hello Moonbeam (his name for me)” greeting that started every conversation. This single greeting reflected that while we were sometimes approaching things from opposite sides, our friendship would always allow us to come together and find the right path forward.
My prayers for Tom may not have been enough to keep him with you longer but I am sure that he is safe now and with God. Tom was not only a friend to me but a man I respected and admired. He dedicated much of his life to our country and then to a successful career and always his family. I clearly remember his first day at WR Grace...”Hi I'm Tom Brossart - and I've been with Grace for, oh about two hours now...” was his introduction to a group of about 30 people in a conference room - some of who just found out who their new boss was. It was humorous, candid, and straightforward - just like he was every day since. Tom spoke about you all often sons often and with great pride. “Oh Kathy would love this or Kathy wouldn't like that or We should get the wives and us together sometime” was often a comment in our conversations. He was so very proud of Alex and Jack, of the men they had become and what their future held. I wish we had done spent more time together - Time is fleeting and we sometimes forget that we need to share that time with our friends and family to make the most of it while we can. He took great pride in Alex and Jack and I know that his family was his single greatest accomplishment.
I was looking forward to seeing Tom retire and relax after what was clearly a stressful - albeit productive 2014. You should know that he strived to always do the right thing in the face of adverse conditions and his efforts were noticed, appreciated, and fruitful. I has been my privilege to have known Tom, he will live on in my memories and I am a better person today because of what I learned from Tom. My tears right now do not adequately express my profound sadness that I will never hear “Hello Moonbeam” again.
Once again please accept my condolences and I hope that my words provide you and your family some comfort.
Fondly,
Kevin

I didn't have the honor of knowing Tom for very long. Having met him this past August to work on St. Michael's Spring "party for a purpose", each encounter was pleasant and informative. Tom was smart, personable and always had a twinkle in his eye. I will miss him and will be thinking about him at our event in April. God Bless this good man and give his lovely wife courage at this time of deep sadness.
