Ruby Forquer Obituary

Kingston Ruby Fern Waldon Hoover Forquer, Ross County, Ohio, January 14, 1945-May 8, 2025. Ruby was born to Virgil Carl and Ruby Fern Waldon nee Tucker, in Duvall, Ohio. Her mother died at the time of her birth. Ruby was raised by her maternal grandparents, Thomas and Maude Tucker nee Hastings, in Duvall. She graduated from Teays Valley High School, Class of 1963. On May 13, 1963 she married Rodney Eugene Hoover until his death in June, 1983. In May, 1984 she married Max Forquer, later divorced.

Ruby held a variety of jobs through the years with her favorite being employed with unions. She was a staunch, lifelong Democrat and a strong advocate for veterans. (She made me put the Democrat part in here.) Over the years Ruby hosted many benefits/fundraisers to assist people in need in Pickaway County. I once picked her up from The Pickaway County Jail, don't ask, where she was selling spaghetti raffle tickets to the deputies while I was trying to arrange for her release. Ruby had quite the colorful and varied life!

She was raised with her sisters Jeannie Waldon, Toni Knox Keller and her brothers, Thomas Knox and Gary Fout.

Preceding her in death were her parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles, a niece, first husband and second husband, her brothers Vester Carl Holbrook and Thomas Knox.

Ruby is survived by her daughter, Dawn Hoover Noble and husband Andrew, her son, Rodney Eugene Hoover and his wife Serena, 13 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren, her sisters Jeannie and Toni and her husband Chuck, and brother Gary Fout.

She is also survived by her nephew Rick Holbrook, his wife Anna and their children. The grandchildren and great-grandchildren of her second husband also survive. Ruby had many, many friends in different walks of life. Too many to even try to mention. Ruby's sister Jeannie was born blind and developmentally delayed. Ruby was Jeannie's caretaker and guardian her entire adult life.

Ruby was a member of The AmVets 2256, The VFW 3331 and Eagles FOE 685.

Mom did not like funerals at all. Per her request she has been cremated and her ashes will be scattered. A get together, not a funeral, will be held at a later date. Details will be posted on FaceBook.

In lieu of flowers please donate to any veterans organization.

We would like to thank Adena Hospice for the care they gave mom. We would also like to thank Marie Brown. Ruby Forquer
