Thelma Jane and family, I am saddened by the news about Toby. He was such a wonderful person, never changing and always ready to help. You and Toby will always be remembered as special people in our lives at Berea. I wish I could do something as nice for you, Thelma Jane, as you did for me when Paul died. You always seemed to know just what to do to make everything better. Love and prayers for you.

Toby was a man who humbly helped others. He always had a smile and word of encouragement for those who needed it - students and colleagues alike. Larry and I loved to see his eyes twinkle as he became Santa in the eyes of countless children. We so enjoyed fellowship with them at Biltmore UMC. We send our deepest condolences to the family.

Toby Shook was an outstanding teacher and department chair for the math department at A-B Tech. He loved his family, the college, the community and his country! His enthusiasm for life was contagious to everyone he came in contact with. Rest in peace my friend.

One great teacher and a great man as well. It was my pleasure to have been associated with Toby during the early years of A-B Tech. Toby's contributions to student success were immeasurable to hundreds, many of whom entered his classes with attitudes not favorable to the subject. He leaves a strong legacy.
Condolences to his loving family.
