John Cooper Obituary

John L. Cooper, 90, of West Wyoming, passed into eternal life on New Year's Day, Monday, Jan. 1, 2024.

His loving wife is Regina A. Wilchek Cooper. Together, John and Regina celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary on Sept. 13, 2023.

Born Feb. 28, 1933, in Larksville, John was one of three children born to the late John Cooper and Veronica Motyka Cooper.

Raised in Larksville, John was a graduate of the former Larksville High School, Class of 1951.

A United States Army veteran, John honorably served his country for two years during the Korean War. Upon his honorable discharge on March 3, 1955, he attained the rank of sergeant.

Prior to his retirement, John was employed by Cee-Kay's Auto Parts, Kingston, for 17 years. Before that, he was employed for 35 years as a route salesman by Valley Vending, Wilkes-Barre.

John was a member of Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish, Swoyersville, and the American Legion, Andrew Lawrence Post 644, Swoyersville.

In addition to his parents, John and Veronica, John was preceded in death by his son, Jeffrey M. Cooper, on Nov. 28, 2021; daughter-in-law, Caprice M. Miletta Cooper; sister, Florence Shatkoski; and brother, Walter Cooper.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Regina; and their sons, John F. Cooper and his wife, Takako, New Hampshire; and Brian C. Cooper, West Wyoming; granddaughter, Aya Cooper; and nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a memorial Mass which will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 20 in St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish, 116 Hughes St., Swoyersville.

Funeral Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Wroblewski Funeral Home Inc., 1442 Wyoming Ave., Forty Fort.
