Mark M. Gronkowski

Mark M. Gronkowski, 54, of South Market Street, Glen Lyon, passed away Thursday, Aug. 23, 2018, in Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center, Plains Twp., as the result of a motorcycle accident.

He was born in Nanticoke, on Jan. 12, 1964, the son of the late Leonard and Jean Ulawski Gronkowski. He was a graduate of the Greater Nanticoke Area High School and later attained his CDL at Schuylkill Technology Center. Mark was employed by MT2 Metals Treatment Technology as a heavy equipment operator. He was a member of Holy Spirit Parish, Glen Lyon, Valley With A Heart, Sheatown, a member of the Northern Tier Sportsmen's Association, New Albany, Pennsylvania, and was also a former Nanticoke Fire fighter and member of the Nanticoke Ambulance Deptartment. Mark was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Surviving are his wife of 27 years, the former Elizabeth Fowler Gronkowski, at home; son, Matthew, Danville; daughters, Heather and Chelsea, at home; Melissa, Ashley, PA, Sister, Betty Jean Skovronski (David), Boyertown, PA, Brothers, Rick Gronkowski (Pat), Cheney, Wash.; Dave Gronkowski (Mary Ruth), Larksville; Gary Gronkowski (Tania), Nanticoke; two grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.

A memorial service will be held at 6:45 p.m. Wednesday at George A. Strish, Inc. Funeral Home, 211 West Main St., Glen Lyon. A memorial visitation will be held from 5 until 6:45 p.m. The family requests flowers be omitted.
