Shirley M. Thomas Bower, 84, of Sweet Valley, died Friday, March 10, 2023, in Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.
Born in Orangeville on July 5, 1938, she was a daughter of the late Harold D. and Margaret J. Hartman Thomas. She resided in Sweet Valley for 54 years.
Shirley was employed as a district buyer for the K-Mart store in Edwardsville for over 25 years.
She served as district president of the American Legion Auxiliary in Shickshinny and also was active with the Sweet Valley Fire Co. Ladies Auxiliary.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William B. Bower Jr., on April 18, 2018; a daughter, Teresa Brink; and three grandchildren, Justin Brink, Chris Bower and Steven Devens.
Left to cherish her memory are a son, William H. Bower and his wife, Alice Blaine, Benton; seven grandchildren, Tim Brink, Kim Trendle, Natasha Bower, Josh Bower, Heather Devens, Brandon Devens and Hunter Bower; 16 great-grandchildren; two great-great-granddaughters; four siblings, Helen Ann, wife of Dale M. Davis, Orangeville; Dale E. Thomas and his wife, Bernice, Bloomsburg; Roselyn Smith, Jersey Shore; and Doris L. Creveling, Bloomsburg; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday from Dean W. Kriner Inc. Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 325 Market St., Bloomsburg. A viewing will be held from 5 p.m. to service time.

Shirley, we had some happy times traveling with the Auxiliary for so many years. I think about you quite often, and will miss you. Prayers for you and your family during this time. My you rest in peace. Love ya!!
