Erma Kelly Obituary

ONAGA ~ Erma M. Kelly, 75, Onaga, died Tuesday, June 3, 2003, at a Manhattan hospital. She was born Jan. 19, 1928, northwest of Centralia, the daughter of Roy A. and Emma A. Wiechman Most. Her mother died when she was 2-and-a-half years old and she was raised by her father and grandparents. She attended school in Centralia and moved to Onaga to work for her uncle, Melvin Most, at the Shamrock Cafe, where she met her future husband. Mrs. Kelly was a member of First Congregational United Church of Christ in Onaga. She married Carl Q. "Speck" Kelly on Aug. 4, 1947, in Carlsbad, N.M. He died March 28, 2001. Survivors include a son, Bill Kelly, Onaga; and two grandchildren, Derreck Kelly and Sarah Kelly. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at First Congregational United Church of Christ in Onaga. Burial will be in Onaga Cemetery. Mrs. Kelly will lie in state today and Thursday at the Tessendorf-Chapel Oaks Funeral Home in Onaga where relatives and friends will meet from 7 to 8 p.m. Thursday. She also will lie in state at the church an hour before service time Friday. Memorial contributions may be made to the First Congregational United Church of Christ and sent in care of the funeral home.
