Dearest Karen, I am so very sorry to hear the news of Andy's leaving us so soon. I remember you both well from high school and what a kind person he was from grade school school on. You and your family are in my prayers.

Karen, Emily, Jason,
A neighbor (not once but twice), a co-worker, a softball teammate, a carpool buddy, a fellow Jaguar fan (and now, for the first time, I'll concede that Andy was the bigger fan!), Patrick's other Dad, but most importantly a GREAT FRIEND, I will miss Andy aka "AJ" aka "Ace" dearly. I'll never forget the time we ran out of gas (twice) on the way home and how hard we laughed as Andy shook the back end of my car with his hind end while I cranked the ignition. It worked (twice), and W.W. did not miss her hot date! Or when we painted our faces for the 1999 Jaguar state championship game. Andy looked like a Smurf --- a scary one at that as an elderly couple at McDonald's will attest. Every Fall Friday I asked Andy, "Are you thinkin' of goin' to the Jaguar game tonight?" Of course he was! Even the, "How 'bout that Gordon boy?" after every Jeff Gordon victory was met with a smile and a cute response. I told Andy that he should have been NASCAR's IT Director as he could have built their data base without any research beyond what was in his head. I'll think of Andy any time I eat catfish, work on a car, plant a tree, or watch a NASCAR race. Andy was the best! Karen, Emily and Jason, you are in my thoughts and prayers.

Jason, Emily and Ms. Karen,
Although it has been awhile since I have seen Mr. Andy, I always remember him as having a huge smile. He helped Jason and me work on my truck after the two of us got in over our heads, and willingly helped us finish the project, smiling the whole time. I am so sorry to hear of your loss, but find comfort in knowing that he has left great memories with all that knew him.

Andy's death was shocking to us all, and my sympathies go out to Karen, Emily, and Jason. Though it has been several years since I last saw Andy, I still have fond memories of him while I worked at BXS.
As most know, Andy had a passion for Nascar. He once told me of a time he was at Talledega and after the race the pit crews "give away" the used tires from the race cars. If you've ever seen one of these tires, they are fairly big. Anyway, as Andy walked into a restroom, he heard one of the "good ole boys" holler out to his buddy, "Hey, man...watch my tire! Don't let anyone steal it while I go in here!"
I still laugh about that experience and relay it to others today. Andy will truly be missed, and I am thankful for the opportunity to have known him.

My deepest sympathy to Karen and the children. For over ten years we car pooled from Madison to Yazoo City and never once did Andy have anything but positive energy to share. He was always someone who was available when a friend needed help, he was one to make a positive experience out of a negative situation, and one that could be counted on to do what was right. You'll be missed by everyone that ever knew you. God Bless You, and your family.

My friend ... you always chose to take the high road. You always knew that the things you did affected others. You made the decision to understand those around you, to make them smile, to show compassion and understanding ... and you even chose to do that for people who had wronged you. You chose to show your beliefs by the way you lived. Moreover though, you brought great honor and dignity to the friendships you formed ... and I honor your memory ... and I will do so always.
