Donna Maxwell Obituary

Donna Owen Maxwell

Madison

Donna Owen Maxwell, 68, of Madison passed away peacefully in her home on October 24, 2016, after a brief battle with brain cancer.

Donna was born in Greenwood, MS, on April 12, 1948 to Jean Rogers and James Russell Owen. She graduated from Drew High School and Delta State University.

Donna married W. Maret Maxwell MD in 1969, and devoted her life to making a Christian home for their three children: Mac, Brad, and Jennifer. Donna enjoyed traveling, playing bridge with her many friends, and attending her grandchildren's' activities. Her greatest joy in life was her grandchildren, and spending time with them was a high priority. Donna was a member of Pear Orchard Presbyterian Church. She also started, along with a friend, a women's Bible Study, which she often taught. Donna is survived by her husband, Dr. Maret Maxwell; her children, Dr. Mac Maxwell (Christy), Brad Maxwell (Kim), and Jennifer White (Everett); seven grandchildren; and her brothers, Roger Owen and Bamy Owen (Jackie). She was preceded in death by her father and mother, Jim and Jean Owen.

The family is grateful to Dr. Ruth Fredericks, Dr. Al Johnson, their staffs, and all the wonderful caregivers at St. Dominics, Methodist Rehab, and Sitters, LLC.

In lieu of flowers the family requests gifts be made to Blair E. Batson Hospital for Children or Pear Orchard Presbyterian Church.

Visitation will be at Parkway Funeral Home in Ridgeland on Thursday, October 27th from 5 to 7 p.m. Funeral services will be held at Pear Orchard Presbyterian in Ridgeland on Friday, October 28th at 11 a.m.
