Madison
Lula Darthula (Dot) Cox, 97, passed away Wednesday October 19, 2016, at home. Funeral services will be 11:00am Friday October 21, 2016 at Madison United Methodist church preceded by visitation from 9-11am. Burial will follow in Montgomery Cemetery in Madison.
Dot was preceded in death by her parents; and 3 siblings; her husband, Murray S. Cox, Jr.; and daughter, Lucy Cox Lott.
Survivors include her daughters, Kay Cox Kiger (Jack), Mae Cox Bozeman, Linda Cox Powell, Murray Claire Cox, and Dorothy Cox Terry (Ron); grandchildren, Bill Lott, Murray Lott (Rhonda), Stead Kiger (Jingli), Scott Kiger, Webb Bozeman (Frances), DR Bozeman(Shannon), Harvey Bozeman (Gina), Lisa Moore (Scott), Dottie Snyder (Cory), DJ Powell (Kristin), Percy Quinn (Elizabeth), and Casey Chamblee (Buck); 25 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; and brother, Frank Herring (Evelyn).
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to Madison United Methodist Church, 100 Post Oak Rd., Madison, MS 39110 or Sta Home Health and Hospice, 406 Briarwood Dr., Bldg. 200, Jackson, MS 39206.

Your Mom was truly an exceptional lady who had plenty of love for everyone who knew her. She always made everyone feel special.
It's a sad day, I'm sorry I could not be there to share the grief of all of you, but my thoughts and prayers are with each of you and your families. At really sad times like this, I think of The Lord's Prayer, thy will be done which gives me comfort

Dot Cox is in heaven today being kind and generous to everyone she encounters, just like she did here in Madison all these years.
I shall never forget how she could guide and influence in such a gentle and wise manner.

Today, I learned of your mother's death and thought about the Cox family with fondness from almost 70 years ago when my dad was pastor at the Methodist Church in Madison. The Cox family was always special to the Lindsey family.
My prayer is that you find comfort and peace in the days ahead.

So very sorry for your loss. Ms Cox left 5 wonderful daughters behind, and I will be praying for each of you. I'm so glad I got to visit with your mom on her 95th birthday. My world will be emptier just knowing she is no longer here. She was very kind to me & was a source of encouragement to me during a hard time in my life. I will always remember her with love--she was a special person.

To Mae and all the family: I am grieved to hear of your mom's passing. She was a fine and mighty strong lady and did a fine job in rearing her family. The last time I saw her was when you and Dudley married there in the Methodist Church in Madison and remember how pretty I saw her to be that night. Know you are in my prayers.
