Imogene Casey Obituary

Imogene "Jean" Casey

Pearl

Imogene Riley Casey passed away at her daughter's home in Brandon on January 5, 2017. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, January 10, at 1:00 P.M at Baldwin Lee Funeral Home in Pearl. Visitation is one hour prior to the service.

She is survived by her daughter Elizabeth (Betty) and her husband Bill Warren of Brandon; her son Santford Norfleet Casey III (Buddy) and his wife Kathy of Warner Robins, GA; four grandsons; Benjamin Warren (Elizabeth) of Brandon, William M. Warren of Magee, Santford Norfleet Casey IV (Rena) of Duluth, GA, and John Mark Casey (LeAnne) of Star. Mrs. Casey enjoyed her four great grandchildren including Emily Warren, Braden Warren, Riley Casey and Carson Casey. She is also survived by her brother, Ray Riley (Anita) of Grand Bay, AL. She leaves behind several beloved nephews, nieces and cousins. In addition to her husband, Mrs. Casey was preceded in death by her parents, one sister and four brothers.

Mrs. Casey was a native of Kemper County and moved to what would eventually become Pearl in 1942. There she met and married Rankin County native Santford Norfleet Casey Jr. who preceded her in death in 1994. Mrs. Casey was a devoted homemaker who is known for her unbelievably irresistible biscuits. She also served as a Cub Scout leader with the Andrew Jackson Council. She assisted many young men to advance in rank even as far as the top rank of Eagle Scout. She was a homeroom mother for as long as her children were in school.

She was a long time member of Pearson Baptist Church where she taught Sunday school and enjoyed her church family. Her passion was participating and performing with the dulcimer group, The String of Pearls, led by Mrs. Connie Seaney.

The family is deeply grateful for the sitters whose loving care enabled her to stay at her daughter's home where she was most comfortable and happy. Gratitude is also expressed to Dr. David Sullivan and the staff of Sta-Home Hospice.

In lieu of flowers, Mrs. Casey's family asked that memorials be directed to either Pearson Baptist Church in Pearl, or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee.
