Inez Davis Obituary
Utica - 1927 - 2018 - Mrs. Inez Moreland Davis went home to be with the Lord on July 25, as she passed away peacefully after a wonderful life of 90 years.
Mrs. Davis was born in Carpenter, MS on September 17, 1927. She was the daughter of the late Hizzie and Hattie Moreland. She graduated from Hinds County A.H.S. in Utica, MS. She married Worley L. Davis, Sr. They made their home in Tuskegee, AL until 1972 when they returned to Utica, MS. Mrs. Davis was an active member of White Oak Missionary Baptist Church. Mrs. Davis loved spending time with family and friends, and was never without a child, grandchild, or great grandchild in her home.
She is survived by her children, Worley (Chandra) Davis of Hattiesburg, Donna Moore of Utica, Karen (Charles) Smith of Terry, and Gregory (Daphne) Davis of Jackson. She has 10 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. She leaves one brother, Robert Earl Moreland, and two sisters, Thelma Herron and Eva Nell Davis. She was preceded in death by her husband, Worley L. Davis, Sr. and daughter, Gwendolyn Davis.
Visitation will be 4:00 to 6:00 pm at Westhaven Funeral Home in Utica, MS on Sunday, July 29, 2018. Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 30, at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Westhaven Memorial Funeral Home, Utica, MS, followed by internment at White Oak Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery, Carpenter, MS.

It has been such a long time since we've seen each other but I will cherish the memories I share with such a beautiful and welcoming person. She is my Godmother's (Mrs. Thelma Herron) sister and I am very honored to have met Mrs. Davis. May God's Peace rest upon the hearts of this beautiful family and comfort to know that all is well.
