Rod,
You were many different things to many different people: Husband, Father, Grandfather, Brother, Friend, Warrior, Veteran, the list will go on into eternity with you. You've finished the race that the Apostle Paul tells us about in the New Testament.
You have touched many lifes and left us all better people. While you have left your clay body, you join our Father in heaven, yet you will live within us with the special memories: your quick smile, your quick sense of humor, your humble nature.
Your influence on my sons is impossible to paint with words. Both followed your examples as enlisted men in the United States Marine Corps and the Mississippi Air National Guard.
I will always remember your willingness to be the main chef over the Marine bacon (Spam) served at each Man's Breakfast at Providence Presbyterian Church, Clinton, Ms.
We were coming this Memorial Holiday to Clinton with the hope and desire to talk with you. That talk will have to wait until we see you in heaven.
From one veteran to another thank you for your service and love of country, family, and God.

John and I are so sorry for your loss. However, we know that Rod is with Jesus, probably producing a heavenly newsletter.
Love and blessings,
Mary Hamby
