Sharee Levingston Obituary
Jackson
Sharee Levingston, 61, of Jackson passed away July 18, 2013 at MBMC in Jackson. Visitation will be Monday, July 22, 2013 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Sebrell Funeral Home in Ridgeland. A visitation will be at 10:00 a.m. prior to a funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 23, 2013 at Ridgecrest Baptist Church in Madison. A graveside service will follow at 3:00 p.m. at Moak's Creek Baptist Church Cemetery in Summit, MS. Born in Natchez in 1951, Sharee would go on to graduate from Delta State University with a Master of Education in 1976. Sharee married Kenneth Levingston in Ruleville in 1983, and they would later move to Jackson in 1986. Sharee taught in Open Doors in several elementary schools notably Casey Elementary, influencing and opening the minds of all her students. Sharee is preceded in death by her father, Grady Hodges and her husband Kenneth of 19 years. Mrs. Levingston is survived by her son, Jameson Kline Levingston of Jackson, her mother Evelyn Hodges of Natchez, her brother Gary Hodges, nieces Brandy and Brittney Hodges all of Oklahoma City, OK. The family would like to thank the medical staff of MBMC for their compassionate care. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society at www.cancer.org.

I am deeply saddened by the news of Sharee's death! Kline and Evelyn - this is Virginia, who once lived on Tracewood Drive in Jackson. Kline, you and your dad came to swim every weekend! I have fond memories of those times. Sharee and I lost touch these last 5 years when I returned to Delta State. I just learned of Sharee's death, and I hate I missed being with y'all during this difficult time. May God lay His hands upon you, this day and always, so you may know the healing power of His love.

I have just learned of Sharee's passing. Sharee and I were suite mates in college and one of the dearests people that I have ever known. Mrs. Hodges and Gary, I spend many week-ends in your home in Natchez and I wish I had known earlier.

My thoughts and prayers are with the family during this difficult time. Mrs. Levingston was my son's Open Doors teacher at Casey Elementary and she was our neighbor. She was extremely encouraging, caring, and attentive to the needs of all her students and the community at large.
I will certainly miss our visits whenever she and her mom drove past the house, and my husband and I are forever grateful for her impact on our son's education. God Bless.

My thoughts and prayers are with Sharee's family at this time of grief. I taught at Key School in Jackson with Sharee. She is one of my fondest memories from my teaching career. She was such a sweet, loving lady, who I know will be greatly missed.

I taught with Sharee for several years and thoroughly enjoyed knowing her. We had lots of long conversations in the halls of the school. I am so sad to hear of her death. She was such a sweet, caring friend.
