W.R. Day, 76, passed away on Sunday, September 18, 2016 at Clinton Health Care. Services will be held at the MS Veteran's Memorial Cemetery in Newton, MS at 1:00 pm on Friday, September 23, 2016.

He was born on November 28, 1939 to Wallace Ray Day and Margie Cathorine White Day. W.R. served in both the Air Force and Army in Korea, Japan and Germany, as a Blue Angels mechanic and member of the fire dept among other duties. He returned home in 1964 and began working in the optical business. W.R. loved carpentry and worked as a general contractor for 30+ years until he was forced to stop due to his health.

He is preceded in death by his father; brothers, John Jerome Day and Darryel Day.

Mr. Day is survived by his mother; daughters, Lucretia Winter and Samantha Day; brothers, Jerold, Carthell, Garlin, and Delbert Day; sister, Gloria Cunningham; grandchildren, Victoria, Emily, and James Winter and Jeremy and Noah Boyd.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Wounded Warrior Project.

Sorry about your Dad Lucretia. I lost mine in 2000 and my mom this year. I will miss them always as I am sure you will your Dad.
