THURMAN CAVITT

THURMAN CAVITT Thurman Cavitt, 78, of Corning, passed away January 22, 2024. Mr. Cavitt was born Oct. 7, 1945. He worked at John Deere and various factories during his career. He enjoyed gardening and fishing. On August 29, 1976, he married Ruth Cooper. They recently celebrated their 47th anniversary. Other survivors include his children, Sherry (Terry) Walley of McDougal and Lynn Pierce of Cabot; brother, David "Speck" Cavitt of Mountain Home; sister, Myrtle B. Cavitt of Corning; grandchildren, Matt (Erica) Pierce, Kristen Pierce, Donald Pierce, Jr. and Candy Pierce; great-grandchildren Nora and Evelyn; and many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Cecil and Elsie (Perrin) Cavitt; brother, Leon Cavitt; and sisters, Faye Yates, Yvette Sample, Marie Sollis and Shirley Holt. Visitation was held at Ermert Funeral Home on Saturday February 3, 2024 from 12 noon until the graveside service. Graveside service was held Saturday February 3, 2024 at 1 p.m. at Hitt Cemetery in Success with Bro. Bryan McDade officiating under the direction of Ermert Funeral Home. Burial followed.
