Odeen Smart

Odeen Smart, 96, of Hayesville, passed away on Thursday, Dec. 18, 2025. She was the daughter of the late Holt and Mary McClure Kitchens.
Odeen was a homemaker. She enjoyed working outside in her garden and mowing. She also enjoyed canning and going for rides in the community. Odeen was a member of Ledford's Chapel Church in Hayesville.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Noel Cotton Smart; a brother, Donald Kitchens; and sisters, Suedean Ledford and Muriel Stroud.
She is survived by one son, Kenny Smart (Gail) of Tennille, Ga.; daughters, Joy Swanson, of Hayesville, and Mary "Tootsie" (David) Davenport, of Tignall; two granddaughters, Ann Morris (Kevin) and Chrissy Peyton (Joe); two grandsons, Allen Davenport (Misty) and Randy Davenport; four great-grandchildren, Quinton Morris, Morgan Boulineau, Macy Peyton and Ben Peyton; and one great-great-granddaughter, Sheridan Morris.
Funeral services was held at 1 p.m. Monday, Dec. 22 at Ledford's Chapel Church in Hayesville with Rev. Jackie Sellers officiating. Burial was in Ledford's Chapel Cemetery. Pallbearers were Allen Davenport, Tony Elliott, John Moody, Steven Kirby, Kevin Morris and Quinton Morris. Honorary pallbearer were Quentin Ledford.
The family received friends from 12-1 p.m. Monday, Dec. 22 at Ledford's Chapel Church.
