David L. Mynard

Fort Collins - David Lynn Mynard of Fort Collins passed away unexpectedly at the age of 59 on January 18, 2017. Dave was born in Denver, Colorado on August 23, 1957 to the late Eleanor and Jack Mynard. He attended elementary and middle school in Denver and Arvada, Colorado and then attended high school in Berthoud, Colorado graduating in May of 1975. He grew up playing sports, fishing, camping, and was a member of the Boy Scouts. Dave was an outstanding athlete lettering in three sports during his high school years including football, wrestling and track & field events. His other high school activities included art, drama, falconry, school plays, and German. He attended Colorado State University for two years directly after high school and later returned to accomplish his goal of earning his bachelor's degree in construction management in 1999. He was known as a dedicated, hardworking employee and was well respected by his both his colleagues and employers over the years at James Street Builders, Inc. , Osborn Supply, Inc., A-Z Rents & Industrial Supply, Centex Homes & Vestas Blades to name a few. He liked playing golf, fishing, hiking, camping and he was an avid Broncos and CSU Rams fan. Along with playing recreational city league softball and flag football, he also enjoyed coaching his son Tyler's JAA football team. Dave was known for his 'big heart' by friends and family and for his amazing ability to fix just about anything. He was also a great cook. In his son Tyler's words: "For those who knew him, know how great of a man he was -strong, kind, gentle and incredibly intelligent. He was a wonderful and loving friend, father and husband."

Dave was preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Eleanor Mynard and his sister Kathy. He is survived by his wife Morna, son Tyler and his girlfriend Katherine of Fort Collins, and his brother, Doug (Jane) of Thornton, Colorado. A Celebration of Life was held previously on Saturday, May 6, 2017 at the Horsetooth Reservoir South Bay Pavilion.
