David Richards Obituary

David George Richards of Golden passed away June 24, 2021. Dave was born on February 24, 1935 to Albert Daniel II and Margaret E Richards in Florence, CO. Dave was 15 minutes younger than his identical twin brother, Albert Daniel III. Dave graduated in 1953 from Golden High School where he was a decorated wrestler and football player. He proudly served our country, first in the United States Navy for three years, then the United States Army for another two years. Following his return from military service, he married Mary Ann Stanczyk on December 26, 1959. In 1962, they welcomed their only daughter Linda to the world, and moved north of Golden, Colorado where Dave supported his family through a long career in construction, retiring as Vice President of Swinerton and Walberg Co. in 1990. Dave enjoyed volunteering for his community from his early childhood years through his retirement. He was instrumental in the founding of the Fairmount Fire Protection District, and was a loving husband and father, and a proud grandfather and great-grandfather. Dave is survived by his wife Mary, daughter Linda (Tom), grandson Matt (Krystle), granddaughter Michelle, and great-granddaughters Madison and Hadley.
