Renee Nowak-Gioeli Obituary

Renee Joan Nowak-Gioeli, 87, of Overland Park, Kansas, left for heaven on January 4, 2021.
Renee was born on February 2, 1933 to Mabel Margaret Murphy and Eli John Delamater in New York City. While attending Cathedral High School, Renee competitively ice skated and performed with the Ice Capades. She went on to study at Hunter College and after graduation, she started her career at Harcourt Brace Jovanovich as a Bookkeeper.
In 1951, she married Lemar Edward Nowak and they built a home in Tuxedo, New York. They went on to have four children, Leslie (Sickler), Christopher (Nowak), Jacqueline (Thomas), and Stephanie (Cinquanta). After retirement in 1993, Renee moved to Evergreen, Colorado with her second husband, Frank, where she fell in love with the mountains and called it "God's Country." Renee moved away from the mountains in 2013, to be closer to her family in Kansas.
Renee was a gourmet cook and loved hosting parties. As an adventurer, she rode the Concord, travelled the world on cruise ships, and took fancy train trips. She loved food and sharing meals at great restaurants. Renee was an avid bridge player, and loved reading, and later listening to books. She often enjoyed listening to Elvis and the Ink Spots on her Alexa (who she had a love/hate relationship with) or watching movies. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. Max, her cat was the most recent love of her life, and her constant companion. Renee will be missed greatly, but has left many past and recent wonderful memories for her family to cherish.
Renee was predeceased by Lemar Edward Nowak, Leslie Ann Sickler, and her second husband, Frank Gioeli. She is survived by her children, Christopher Lee, Jacqueline Lee, Stephanie Lee; grandchildren Justin Nowak, Ashley Nowak, Sterling Thomas, Shay Thomas, Rachael Cinquanta, Robert Cinquanta, and great-grandchild Alina Nowak.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made in her honor to Alphapointe(.org), a low-vision organization. There will be a funeral service held at St. Michaels Archangel Parish, Leawood, KS, on Saturday, January 23rd, at 10:00 am.
