DAVID CITY - Daniel D. Hook, 84, of David City, died Saturday, Dec. 25, 2010, at his residence in David City.
A funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mary's Church in David City with Fr. Bernard Kimminau and Fr. Brian Connor, concelebrants. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery.
Viewing will be 3-7 p.m. Tuesday at St. Mary's Church in David City, followed by a 7 p.m. Knights of Columbus rosary, also at the church. Visitation will continue Wednesday one hour before services at the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested in care of the family.
Dan was born Aug. 26, 1926, in Omaha. He was adopted by Louis and Caroline (Mysenburg) Kreizinger and spent his entire life in David City. He graduated from David City High School in 1944.
On Aug. 6, 1946, he married Eleanore Janky. Eleanore passed away in 1981. On June 5, 1982, Dan married Zita Birkel. He served as clerk of the Butler County District Court and later as an independent carpet installer.
Dan is survived by his wife, Zita, of David City; sons, Jim (MaryAnn), of Riverside, Calif.; Bill (Anna), of St. Louis, Mo., Don (Lor), of Omaha; daughters, Cathy Ray, of Bullhead City, Ariz., Diane Rehder, of Hickman, Mary Ellen Hook, of Lincoln, Jeanne (Mark) Masur, of David City; sisters-in-law, Alice Kreizinger and Dorothy Janky; 14 grandchildren; and nine great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Eleanore, in 1981; brothers, Art and L. Robert Kreizinger; sister, Josephine Hille; and son-in-law, Gilbert Rehder.
