Man....this is hard to sign we were best friends. I mean it's difficult to still believe you're gone wherever I was you were and the other way around we traveled all over together from Nashville to Atlanta. You will always be a part of my life if it wasn't for you I wouldn't have learned to truly live and have fun and experience life. I remember standing outside of our dorms Saturday mornings going to the caf. He was always so upbeat and sometimes ppl needed someone else to make us smile.
I specifically remember him asking all of my friends to hang out one last time after graduation. Wow, Derek you will truly be missed but never, ever ignored.

My condolences go out to Derek's family. He was so sweet, generous, caring, thoughtful and a gentleman. We had maybe four classes together and he made sure if I didn't come in with a smile I was leaving with one. He will be missed; he was such a great person.R.I.P Lanite

Vickie, Audrey and family, my heart grieves with you. I know God knows the answer and loves you very much, and yet we grieve.
I will miss Derek, his smile, his talks with me and his sharing in Sunday School class his many projects he wish to develope. His guiet but determine attitude in getting done what he wanted done.
