EVELYN CAPITELLI Obituary

Byhalia - EVELYN VERONICA CAPITELLI (nee WADE), 100, died at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Collierville Saturday, February 7, 2015. Born August 21, 1914 in the Bronx, N Y, she worked at Merrill Lynch, NY for over 20 years before retiring. She moved to Connecticut in 1975 where she lived with her daughter and family. She finally settled in Byhalia, MS in 2006. She devoted her life to being a loving and caring wife, mother, sister, daughter, aunt, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Judith and David Keanon; her grandsons, Joseph and Matthew Marchetti and Ronald Steadman-Keanon; her great-grandson, Benjamin Steadman-Keanon; her granddaughters, Mary Angela Marchetti, and Jody Steadman-Keanon. Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband, Orazio. A Catholic mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, February 21, 2015 at Catholic Church of the Incarnation, 360 Bray Station Road, Collierville, TN, 38017, 901-853-7648. Relatives and friends are welcome at the service and reception immediately following the mass. Memorial contributions are welcome and should be mailed to the American Heart Association, 1101 Northchase Parkway, Suite 1, Marietta GA, 30067.

Grandma, you have meant so much to me since I was a very little girl! You were always my idol! I wanted to be like you and always did everything the way I know you would do such! I think about you every day, every moment of each day and smile at your pictures! You are so special and precious to me...and to so many people! I miss you so much. When I visit Mommy, I know you are there with us. I love you so much and can not wait to see you again!!!

My Dearest Mom, As you celebrate your Birthday with God, Jesus, and Our Dear Mother the Virgin Mary, I want you to know how much I love you and miss you. Our house seems empty without you here. I still sleep in the lounge chair like I used to when you were so sick, so I could be by your side as soon as you called out for me. I sit in your sitting room all the time and say my Rosary and attend mass every day. I pray that you are happy and at peace in heaven. And I think of the joy you must have being able to hear everything at last, and not suffering pain anymore. It must be wonderful being with all your and our friends and mostly our relatives all the time. Please give my love to them all. Please put in a good word for me in heaven...I truly want to see you and everyone again in what God promises is our eternal home. I love you with all my heart, and I will always miss you. Mom, I'm thinking about you every day of my life. I miss you so much. I wish you were still here! KATHY and Marc KASHAR came and visited us this past May, and I gave her the ring you wanted me to give her. She cried so hard. She loves it. And she said she misses you too, and she thinks of you every day, and she loves you always and she will wear the ring every day...it makes her feel closer to you.
Look around heaven Mom. Sad news, your Goddaughter Terry died last March of Cancer. She was suffering so much. I know she will be looking for you, too. Please kiss everyone for me that you see. I pray and say the Rosary every day for all of you. I'm sure you're looking down on us. Ronnie is doing well at College. JODY is doing wonderfully as an RN at the hospital she's working at. The staff there are very impressed with her. They say she needs to get her Masters Degree. Which she intends to do.!
Benjamin is doing wonderfully in his third grade! He got all A's this year! We are all So Proud of Him! You would be too!

Mom, we have been friends & Mother & Daughter for 70 years. It has been an honor to be your daughter. I will miss you dearly, but your spirit fills our home and will always be a comfort to me. Ms Capitelli, "Grandma" was a wonderful lady, full of sweetness, kindness and love. In the short time I knew her and lived as her next door neighbor I have been truly blessed.
