RUBY PEGRAM MOSS, 98, died Friday, October 26, 2007. Visitation will be from 2-3 p.m. Monday, October 29, at Memphis Funeral Home on Poplar with servicesimmediately following at 3 p.m. Born in Pontotoc, Mississippi, she moved to Memphis with her family in the 1920s. After attending Central High School, she began working for Goldsmith's at Main and Gayoso until she met andmarried Emmett Howard Moss (Jack), who died in 1981. She was an accomplished seamstress and a loving babysitter for many children in the city of Memphis. As a member of St. Luke's United Methodist Church, she served in many capacities of outreach to the community. She also served as the president of the Alpha Gamma Delta Fraternity Mothers Club at the University of Memphis. She is survived by her sons, Jack Linwood Moss (wife, Betty Sue) of Toms River, New Jersey, and Phillip Thorne Moss (Wife, Della); and daughter, Virginia Moss Reese (husband, Sonny), of Memphis. Her son, Robert Emmett Moss died in a car accident in 1963. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren, Sandra Moss and Steven Moss of Memphis, Rod Moss of Weehawken,NJ, Scott Moss, Douglas Moss, Spencer Reese, Sidney Reese, Susannah Reese, all of Memphis, Pamela Lawrence and Robert Moss of Las Vegas, NV; 11 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.
