Doris Jesseman

Hopkinton, NH - Doris Shover Jesseman, 93, formally a resident of Piermont NH and Hopkinton NH, passed away on May 13, 2024 at the Merrimack County Nursing Home in Boscawen NH surrounded by her family. She was born on November 6, 1930 to Urban G. Shover and Emma M. King of West Topsham VT where she attended elementary school and helped out on the family farm.

As an adult, she served as a live-in housekeeper and worked at Gould's Country Store in Piermont, and Ames department store in North Haverhill for a number of years. She enjoyed baking and was well known in the area for her donuts, delightful pastries, and sweet delicacies including homemade ice cream. She also enjoyed, sewing, knitting, ceramics, gardening, fishing, and was a Red Sox fan.

She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. In later years, Doris was an active member of the Slusser Senior Center in Hopkinton and looked forward to "Coffee Hour" and playing cards with her friends in her apartment building. Bingo became one of her favorite past times.

She is survived by three daughters; Jane Deming of Charlottesville VA, Doreen Moody and husband David of Pike NH, and Cindy Locke and husband Kenneth of Hopkinton NH; sisters, Irma Joyal of Barre VT, grandchildren, Ian Colby, Joshua Locke, Tamara Fogg, and Kayla Lloyd; great grandchildren Brailynn, Tailynn, Macelynn, Addilynn and Joielynn Fogg, Christopher Moody, Michael and Courtney Clement and Desmond Moody-Lloyd.

Doris was preceded in death by a brother, Howard Shover who died in infancy; sisters, Emily Herrity, Margaret Dexter, Ida MacDonald, Freda Danforth and Barbara Emerson; grandson Chris Colby; son-in-law Bruce Deming, and granddaughter Cassandra Moody.

A graveside service will be held at Pine Grove Cemetery, lower annex on Mill Street in Warner NH on Thursday May 23, 2024 at 1:00 PM.
