George Campbell Obituary

George Campbell III

Concord, NH -

It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden and unexpected passing of George T. "Skip" Campbell III of Concord, New Hampshire, who died on December 17, 2024 at the age of 59. Skip was a graduate of St. Paul's School, Holy Cross, and the Franklin Pierce School of Law.

A criminal defense lawyer for nearly thirty years, Skip excelled at his craft. He was an accomplished advocate and a consummate professional. Many NH lawyers, including Skip's wife Tracey, benefited from Skip's mentorship and his skillful training in the art of practicing law.

Skip was a devoted father and husband. He was immensely proud of his children, Luke and Ella, and of his nephews, Billy and Ryan, not only for their accomplishments, but because when faced with enormous challenges in their own lives, they responded with grace, courage, grit, and resilience.

Skip is survived by his wife, Tracey Goyette Cote; his children, Luke and Ella Campbell; his stepson, Evan Cote; his sister, Marylynne (Campbell) Chavanelle Geist; and his nephews, Billy and Ryan Chavanelle. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mary P. Campbell and George T. Campbell, Jr.

Visitation will be held Friday, December 27, 2024 from 4-6:30 p.m., followed by a funeral service at 6:30 p.m., at the McHugh Funeral Home in Manchester, NH. In lieu of flowers, gifts may be made to the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and The Jimmy Fund in memory of George T. Campbell III via jimmyfund.org/gift or P.O. Box 849168, Boston, MA 02284. So very sorry to hear this news! Skip and I were classmates at FPLC and he was loved and respected by all. Skip had that unique ability to make everyone with whom he engaged feel special. May Skip's memory be for a blessing!

Skip was one of my favorite buddies from law school. Often the smartest guy in the room, certainly the funniest and yet humble and kind. His Penguin costume remains one of my favorite of all time. I learned of his passing last night after a day spent with family, and I´m still stunned. My love and hugs are being sent to his family right now. We are all better for having known him. I will raise a glass to you my friend. This world is a better place for having known you. M

My friend for over 40 years and my Holy Cross roommate how can you suddenly be gone? My four years at Holy Cross were some of the best of my life. I cannot imagine them without you. The "Mulledy Basement" will no longer be complete. Until we are all together again, rest in peace my friend.

Some of my fondest memories at Holy Cross were working with Skip on the Student Tech Crew. We had lots of laughs. He also was great DJ for lots of socials. My wife, Robyn (also Class of '87) send our heartfelt condolences to Skip's family.

Skip devoted his life to helping others and I was fortunate enough to be one of them! In the days ahead the grief you feel will subside but never will be forgotten. He was certainly one of a kind and I am saddened but appreciative to have known him and work with him.

Such a shame. I worked with Skip at McLane Middleton for a number of years and always appreciated his wit and intellect. My condolences to his family.
