George Hodgdon Obituary
Weare, NH - 74, passed away September 15th, 2024, with his daughter Jennifer by his side.
George originally from Lowell, MA born January 4th, 1950,
the son of the late Yvonne Belanger Hodgdon and George M Hodgdon.
George spent his younger years boxing in the golden gloves at the Lowell Auditorium. George owned many racehorses racing them at Rockingham Park and Suffix Downs (GODEEP). George spent summers visiting Saratoga Springs racetrack Saratoga, NY. When he wasn't watching live racing, he loved bringing his father to The Belmont racetrack to watch simulcast. George was the proud owner of George's Pizza and Palmers Tavern in Weare, NH.
George spent a little over the last year of his life living with his daughter, Jennifer in New Boston, NH where he loved watching football, playing cards, and going to lunch on the weekends.
George leaves behind his best friend and only child, daughter Jennifer Elaine LaPlante, grandson Tucker George LaPlante whom he was very proud of, son in-law Ryan Richard LaPlante, former wife Katheryn Ann Morse, along with many friends!
George was so loved and will truly be missed! CELEBRATION OF LIFE- October 11th, 2024, Puritan Backroom 6pm-9pm. ALL ARE WELCOME!

I have missed Palmers every day. George was my partner for several years on the pool league. So many good times with him. OMG the stories he told, remember them all. RIP George. Hope all is well Jen

spent a lot of time with george traveling to bet the horses we shared lots of storys he was very proud of jen who often traveled with us...good luck on your journey

My dad and George were best friends for over 50 years. They built houses side by side from one another in the 80's. I grew up as George being my second father. George and I actually share the same birthday January 4th. I'm going to miss his phone calls just to say Happy Birthday to one another or just to check in on me. He was a great man who would do anything for the ones he cared about. I'm going to miss him a lot. You and my father are up there together once again. Love you George!
