Gladys Murphy

Loudon, NH - Gladys Murphy of Loudon, NH passed away on December 13th at the Presidential Oaks nursing home. Born in Sandown, NH in 1921, she was the daughter of the late Ralph and Barbara Kelley of Derry, NH.

She graduated from Pinkerton Academy class of 1939, and from the Elliot Hospital School Of Nursing in 1942.

After becoming a registered nurse, she worked at the former Alexander Eastman Hospital in Derry and the Dobbs Ferry Hospital in Dobbs Ferry New York. She retired from nursing in 1970 while working at the Concord Hospital.

Over the years she was a member of several organizations including the Elliot Hospital Alumni Association.

She was pre-deceased by Richard Murphy, her husband of 63 years, and a brother Norton Kelley of Derry.

She is survived by her son Dennis Murphy of North Conway NH and his wife Sherill Ciampa- Murphy, a granddaughter Kristen West of North Conway, a grandson David Murphy of Laguna Niguel, CA and great grandchildren Jacob and Sage West and Logan and Avery Murphy, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Visiting hours will be on Monday, December 23 from 12 to 2 PM at Bennett Funeral Home, 209 North Main Street, Concord NH.

Burial will follow at 3 PM at Blossom Hill Cemetery in Concord.
