Pembroke, NH - Harold Lawrence Thompson Sr, 87, of Pembroke passed on March 3 surrounded by family at Granite VNA Hospice House in Concord. Harold was born in Manchester to Clifton and Alice Thompson. He is survived by Annette Thompson, his wife of 65 years, and children Harold Thompson Jr. and Joy Barker. His grandchildren include Christopher Barker, Justine Benson, Joshua Barker, Stephanie Donohue, Matthew Thompson, Harold Thompson III, Michael Thompson, and 12 great-grandchildren. His siblings are Shirley Marier and Albert Thompson. He was pre-deceased by his brothers Sonny, Clifton, and Robert Thompson and his grandson Eric Barker. After graduating from Pembroke Academy in 1954, Harold served his country for 26 years as a Master Sergeant in the Air Force where he traveled the world. Once retired he returned to Pembroke to raise his family and run the family farm and farm stand. He served as a Sewer Commissioner in Pembroke for the last 18 years but Harold's true passion was his blueberry farm. He could be found from early spring until late fall working the fields and visiting with his friends and neighbors who came from miles around to enjoy the fruits of his labor. Harold's kindness and generosity will be missed by all. A private family burial will be held in the spring.
