James Venne Obituary

LOUDON - James R. Venne of Loudon died Sunday, Feb. 16, 2014, at Concord Hospital from complications of Leukemia. He was 68 years young.

Jim was born on Nov. 5, 1945, in Concord, to the late Ralph Venne and Anita (Mayo) Venne Schofield. He graduated from Concord High School in 1963. He joined the Army and was stationed at the Herzo Military Base in Germany, serving as a motor pool repair specialist. Returning home, Jim worked at Beede Electrical Instrument Company for more than 30 years, beginning in the stock room and ending his career as plant manager. He then fulfilled his dream of being a small business owner and built Venco Wings LLC, a Honda Goldwing motorcycle repair and retail shop. He was well known and respected for the quality of his work and business ethic.

Jim was a lifetime member of the Gold Wing Road Riders Association and rode many miles touring the country with Sue. He volunteered many hours working with the New Hampshire Chapter of the Multiple Sclerosis Society, planning and escorting routes for their bicycle tour fundraisers. More recently, he became an avid supporter of the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation and their "Ride for Kids" fundraisers.

Jim leaves his wife of 35 years, Sue; stepdaughter, Shane Harris and her husband, Will, along with grandchildren, William and Jaqueline, all from Salisbury, N.C. He also leaves brothers, Jerry and his wife, Linda, of Concord and Peter and his wife, Nila, also of Concord; his sister, Linda Hovan and her husband, Bill, of Dunedin, Fla.; and many beloved nieces, nephews and friends.

Jim was a good, honest and decent man who will be missed by many.

At Jim's request, calling hours will not be held. A service will be held Thursday, Feb. 20, at 11:30 a.m. at the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery Chapel in Boscawen.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society at P.O. Box 4072, Pittsfield, Mass., 01202; or a charity of your choosing.
