Katherine Trice Obituary

Katherine Trice

Concord, NH - Katherine (Katie) Susanne Sweeney Trice left this earthly realm on January 8th, shortly after her 39th birthday. Katie was a kind, loving gentle soul much like her beloved mother. Katie's warmth and generosity made for many lasting devoted friends especially her "Bestie" Kate whom she always looked forward to spending time with particularly "Pizza Night". She loved caring for and interacting with children and this became her lifelong calling. She developed strong enduring relationships with many of these children through adulthood, particularly "Missy and the B boys" and had a deep loving relationship with her second family the O's, "adopted parents" Ray and Anne and with all of their children. In the last 18 months she became the day to day childcare provider for two young boys Adam and Henry who loved Katie dearly being cherished as well by their parents and extended family.

Katie loved sports and in high school was the proverbial triple threat playing varsity softball, soccer and basketball. At Springfield College, she was a starter on their basketball team. The relationships she developed with her college teammates were strong and endured throughout her life.

Katie was a gifted writer with poetry her metier. I was "blown away" by her poems and told her that she had an amazing talent that was worth nurturing and pursuing as a vocation. She continued writing as a means of expression but only rarely shared any of her completed pieces with family or friends.

Katie was adored by and adored her brothers Michael and Nicholas, her sister-in law (SIL) Stefanie, and her niece River and nephew August (Auggie). She like her mother Susanne loved Christmas and Katie was delighted to have her entire family here this past December for Christmas and her Birthday. Katie was a constant source of love and support to her dad who is still grieving the death of her mom less than 2 years ago.

Katie, we were blessed to have had you in our lives, we love you forever and know that you are now at peace back in your mother's arms. Calling hours and a memorial service are planned at South Church on Thursday the 19th from 2-5 PM and Friday the 20th at 11AM respectively. After the memorial service all are welcome in fellowship hall which will include a light repast.

My deepest sympathies to Katie's family. I met her when she coached a running group. She was very kind and supportive and the best cheerleader on the course. May she rest in peace.

Katie, you have touched our lives in ways we could never have imagined. Henry and Adam carry you in their hearts every day, as do we, as I used to say to you "you are my heart and hands when I am not there" we now
are yours. You have taught us all how to love and care.

Katie, the world will forever miss your beautiful heart and sweet smile. I will never forget how much joy you got from small talk and helping my kid out of the car at drop off. Praying your soul is at peace and sending warm hugs to family, friends, and all who knew you.
