Laurie Lalish

Seattle, WA - Laurie A. Lalish, 75, of Seattle, WA, died peacefully on Sunday, September 24, 2023 surrounded by her family after a long battle with Parkinson's disease.

She was born April 11, 1948 in Duluth, MN to Frank and Arline Mainella, and lived for many years in Northwood, New Hampshire. Laurie had many interests and talents, including writing, drawing, gardening, photography, baking and knitting. For many years she and her husband Jeff ran Northwood Stoneware Pottery together where she decorated the pots with beautiful paintings. Her working life included teaching special education, working as an administrative assistant at the University of New Hampshire, and teaching English as a Second Language to Bhutanese refugees in New Hampshire.

Laurie is survived by her husband Jeff Lalish and her three children: Tras Berg, Peter Lalish and Annie Lalish, who will miss her dearly. She is predeceased by her first husband Karl Berg.

A Celebration of Life Service for Laurie will be held on Saturday, November 4th at 2pm at the East Shore UU Church in Bellevue, WA. A burial will be held in New Hampshire at a later date.

Donations in her memory may be made to The Michael J. Fox Foundation or the Humane Society

Many memories from life in Northwood with Jeff and Laurie. Our lives were woven together in a rich tapestry that we have taken with us through the years. We remember and honor those times together in New Hampshire. May you all find peace in this time of loss.
