Mark McCoo Obituary

Mark R. McCoo

Center Barnstead, NH - It is with heavy hearts that we announce Mark R. McCoo, age 62, passed away unexpectedly at his home in Barnstead, NH on November 29, 2024.

Mark was born on August 9, 1962 in Portsmouth, Virginia. He grew up in Loudon, NH and graduated from Merrimack Valley High School in 1980. After working for PepsiCo for 30 years, Mark retired, and then took on multiple jobs throughout the rest of his years, ranging from sales to maintenance/custodial work. You could say he was a jack-of-all-trades.

Mark truly enjoyed the company of family and friends. He had a great passion for singing, music, and sports, especially auto racing. Racing became a huge part of his life since he was a young boy, helping his father work on his race cars and watching him compete. This passion became a part time career as he went on to become a pit crew member for several NASCAR Busch Grand National drivers. His teams won various championships and described Mark as 'a great friend, the best of teammates, a special character and racer that left the world a better place.' He passed on his passion to his sons, and grandsons.

Mark took tremendous pleasure in watching his children and grandchildren in any and all activities they were involved in. He loved them dearly and he was so proud of each of them.

Mark is survived by his beloved wife, Kandi McCoo, a son Andrew McCoo and wife Tulia, a daughter Lindsay McCoo, a son Branden McCoo, 2 granddaughters, 2 grandsons, a brother Tom McCoo, a sister Kim Stewart, and mother-in-law Dorothy Kruger.

Mark was predeceased by his father Ronald McCoo, his mother Mary McCoo, and father-in-law Richard Kruger.

Calling hours will be held on December 13th from 4 to 8 pm at Bennett Funeral Home in Concord, NH.

This news breaks my heart and I would like to send thoughts and prayers to members of both families. Kandy I knew you personally through Mark and send you hugs and kisses. I had such a wonderful friendship with Mark while working at Sanels in Pittsfield, so much fun to be around. Will never forget when I bought Barrack And Michelle Obama masks and we dressed up in proper attire to attend a party for Dennis Call. Mark was Barrack and I was Michelle . Kandy helped us get things together before we made our entrance. To say Dennis was surprised is an understatement . Mark was such a great guy, rest easy my friend.

So many memories of living next door to the McCoo family and seeing the young family grow from 2 to 5. I cuddled each one as a newborn and watched them grow into awesome adults, with the guidance they received from their family. There was always a proud and beaming Dad. The world will miss his smile and the multiple contributions he made in so many lives. I know that I will never forget the help he gave me when I really needed it. I am so sad for all of Mark's family and friends. Love from Grandma Joanne.

No matter how often it happens... nothing prepares us for losing friends or family, Mark was both...
When I think of all the wonderful times and experiences we had together - it helps to process and put into perspective not just the loss, but all that we gained!
for two years (roughly 35 years ago) we spent an enormous amount of time together, then there was very little time in the three decades that followed... but we always found a way to stay in touch, and connect... Including Thanksgiving day, a short time before his passing.
Mark was a wonderful human being, excellent friend...phenomenal teammate. every single conversation, put a smile on my face, and every single conversation included a laugh, or a reflection... Mark was a character, filled with energy and determination... a very loyal friend!

Thank You Mark... You made my life better!
