Janice Dukes Obituary

Janice Bussell Dukes passed away Thursday, July 10, at her residence after a long illness, lovingly taken care of by Shae, Jo, and Beverly with In Loving Care Home Care.

She was born in Savannah and was a longtime resident. She worked in shipping for many years and was a member of Lake Mayer Church of Christ.

She is preceded in death by her father Charles Edward Bussell, retired USAF, and Mother Dorothy Phillips.

She is survived by her daughter Samantha Dukes Semler, grandchildren Alayna Michelle Wood, Evan Smith, Vivian Semler, and one great granddaughter Scarlett Rose Quill, and her sisters Debra Bussell and Cheryl Edenfield, and brother-in-laws Michael Edenfield and nephew Brenton Edenfield.

In lieu of flowers, family requested donations to local food banks.

A visitation will be held from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm on Thursday, July 17, 2025 at the Fox and Weeks Hodgson Chapel. The Funeral service will take place at 12:00 pm on Friday, July 18, 2025 at the Fox and Weeks Hodgson Chapel. The Burial will immediately follow the funeral service at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
