Jacqueline Tompkins Obituary
Jacqueline "Jackie" L. Stewart Tompkins
58, formerly of Terre Haute She was a 1974 graduate of Terre Haute North Vigo High School. She was CEO of Jackie Tompkins INC. which specialized in grant writing, management, and fund development.
She received a bachelors degree in Education and Consumer Management from Indiana State University and two masters degrees from Ball State University. She was a former teacher in the Indianapolis Public School system, a former local executive director of the Indianapolis Birthing Project, she was a member of the Greater St. Mark Baptist Missionary Church, a sister of the Alumni Chapter Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc., a member of Mission of Mercy (M.O.M.), the Black Chamber of Commerce, Indiana Chamber of Commerce and she served on the infant mortality planning committee..
She is survived by her husband of 36 years, Gary L.; son, Gerus L. Tompkins and his wife (Devin); daughter, Genira L. Tompkins and fiancé Jason Newell; brother, Richard L. Stewart; sisters, Mary J. Williams (Adrian), Joyce Y. "Cookie" Wells (Larry), Jill E. Stewart; and grandchild, Kaelin. A memorial service will be announced at a later date.

As always Jacqui lingers in my heart and stays as a loving memory She was such a beautiful person, in all ways. She was the epitome of the Scripture as written in Proverbs 31:10-31. Sincerely loved and missed.

Ms. Jacki I miss you so much I know you have been with me in spirit and I know you always will be....you were my best friend before I got friends at school. You were there at every moment and we had so much fun together. I wish you could see me in orchestra. Every time I play my violin I play a little louder so that you can hear it in Heaven. I know some of my choices recently have not been the best. When the Earth cleared of all evil and bad people we will meet again and I will play a wonderful song on my violin and it will be our special song and I will compose and then I will never play it for anybody but you. I love you so much and I miss you. I am glad you are pain free and that you aren't unhappy anymore. Even though it made us all sad to see you go we had relief that you were done suffering. I love you Ms. Daisy enjoy your big garden in the sky and say hi to Zizi the parrot for me.

I can't believe it has almost been officially 9months since you have been in heaven... I miss u everyday mom... I love u so much... I know that the Lord took u in from his garden to his table for a reason, he has u in his loving hands and has granted u ever lasting life... Happy Mothers Day mom... I never met you but I had/have the pleasure of knowing your son Gerus. He has been a Godsend to me. I know/knew you were an amazing women not from meeting you but from knowing Gerus. I would say anything good about him from his morals, ethics, values and personality has come from you, therefore making you an amazing person. You did such a great thing with that young man. I know it's sad to say goodbye but it's even better to know you are home in heaven without any burdens. Rest in peace mother to many. I pray for the Tompkins family everyday. God Bless. R.I.P.

Our hearts grieve. We will miss you more than mere words could ever express. You, Gary, Gerus and Genira are like family to us. You were such a kind and sincere person. To the Tompkins family. It grieved our hearts to hear of your loss. I personally (Donna) feel saddened that I have let time get in between keeping in touch with childhood friends.
